ABSTRACT

Objective:To evaluate the value of shear wave elastography (SWE) in skin assessment of Systemic sclerosis (SSc).Methods:A total of 58 SSc patients admitted to Peking University Third Hospital from May 2021 to October 2022 and 41 healthy volunteers were included in the study. Skin shear wave elastography (SWE) was performed at 17 sites defined in modified Rodnan skin score (mRSS) measurement, and shear wave velocity values were recorded to evaluate skin hardness. SPSS 22.0 software was used to analyze the skin hardness of SSc patients and healthy controls, and the correlation between skin hardness of SSc patients and clinical data was analyzed. A logistic regression model was constructed to evaluate the diagnostic efficacy of skin hardness at different sites of SSc patients, and to further select the most practical measurement site. Results:The SWE value of SSc patients was significantly higher than that of healthy control group ( P<0.05). There was a positive correlation between SWE and mRSS in the measurement of bilateral fingers, bilateral dorsal hands, bilateral forearms, fore-chest, abdomen, bilateral thighs, and bilateral dorsal feet. Skin stiffness measured by SWE was significantly correlated with SSc disease activity score (EScSG-DAI), ( r=0.71, P<0.001), disease injury score (SCTC-DI), (P=0.55, P=0.005) and functional score (HAQ-DI), ( r=0.46, P=0.003). Reducing the number of measurement sites to 12 (bilateral fingers, bilateral hands, bilateral forearms, bilateral upper arms, forehead, fore-chest, bilateral dorsum of feet) performs as well as all 17 measurement sites simultaneously in assessing disease activity. Conclusion:SWE is a good evaluation tool to reflect the skin lesions of SSc, which is of great value for the diagnosis and evaluation of the disease. We can further standardize the measurement sites and select the most appropriate evaluation strategy, so as to achieve better clinical application.

ABSTRACT

Nucleic acids, as a next generation of biotechnology drugs, not only can fundamentally treat diseases, but also own significant platform characteristics in view of technology and production. Therefore, nucleic acid-based drugs have broad clinical applications in biomedical fields. However, nucleic acids are degradable and unstable, and have very low intracellular delivery efficiency in vitro and in vivo, which greatly limits their applications. In recent years, ionizable lipid-based lipid nanoparticles have shown promising application potentials and have been successfully applied to COVID-19 (Coronavirus Disease 2019) vaccines in clinic. Lipid nanoparticles demonstrate high in vivo delivery efficiency and good safety profile due to their unique structural and physicochemical properties, which provides many possibilities for their clinical applications for nucleic acid delivery in the future. This review focused on the characteristics of nucleic acid drugs and their delivery barriers, and discussed the approved nucleic acid drugs to illustrate the key aspects of the success of their delivery carrier system. In addition, problems to be solved in the field were highlighted.

ABSTRACT

The basic pathogenesis of diabetes is yin deficiency as the root and dry heat as the symptoms, both of which are reciprocal causation. The occurrence and development of this disease is closely related to pathogenic heat, and pathogenic heat has different degrees of deficiency and excess, and is often cemented with tangible pathogenic factors, such as dampness, phlegm and blood stasis. Clinical application of Traditional Chinese Medicine treatment of the eight methods of "clearing therapy" in the treatment of diabetes and its complications has often achieved significant efficacy, which is specifically divided into Qingxie method (clearing heat and purging fire method), for the syndrome of excessive heat in the viscera, and the representative prescriptions are Dahuang Huanglian Xiexin Decoction and Longdan Xiegan Decoction; Qingli method (clearing heat and draining dampness method), for the accumulation of damp heat in the spleen and stomach, gastrointestinal, block triple energizer, and the representative prescription is Gegen Qinlian Decoction; Qinghua method (clearing heat and resolving phlegm, removing blood stasis method) for the disease caused by phlegm, the course of the disease is lingering, complex and changeable, or caused by blood stasis. The disease is various, more serious, with more experience in clinical use of self-made prescriptions; Qingbu method (clearing heat and nourishing method) is for the patients with diabetes for a long time. The pathogenic heat hurts yin and consumes qi, and the representative prescriptions are Baihu Jia Renshen Decoction, Huanglian Ejiao Decoction, and Yu'nyu Decoction.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To analyze the clinical and genetic characteristics of pediatric patients with dual genetic diagnoses (DGD). Methods: Clinical and genetic data of pediatric patients with DGD from January 2021 to February 2022 in Peking University First Hospital were collected and analyzed retrospectively. Results: Among the 9 children, 6 were boys and 3 were girls. The age of last visit or follow-up was 5.0 (2.7,6.8) years. The main clinical manifestations included motor retardation, mental retardation, multiple malformations, and skeletal deformity. Cases 1-4 were all all boys, showed myopathic gait, poor running and jumping, and significantly increased level of serum creatine kinase. Disease-causing variations in Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) gene were confirmed by genetic testing. The 4 children were diagnosed with DMD or Becker muscular dystrophy combined with a second genetic disease, including hypertrophic osteoarthropathy, spinal muscular atrophy, fragile X syndrome, and cerebral cavernous malformations type 3, respectively. Cases 5-9 were clinically and genetically diagnosed as COL9A1 gene-related multiple epiphyseal dysplasia type 6 combined with NF1 gene-related neurofibromatosis type 1, COL6A3 gene-related Bethlem myopathy with WNT1 gene-related osteogenesis imperfecta type XV, Turner syndrome (45, X0/46, XX chimera) with TH gene-related Segawa syndrome, Chromosome 22q11.2 microduplication syndrome with DYNC1H1 gene-related autosomal dominant lower extremity-predominant spinal muscular atrophy-1, and ANKRD11 gene-related KBG syndrome combined with IRF2BPL gene-related neurodevelopmental disorder with regression, abnormal movement, language loss and epilepsy. DMD was the most common, and there were 6 autosomal dominant diseases caused by de novo heterozygous pathogenic variations. Conclusions: Pediatric patients with coexistence of double genetic diagnoses show complex phenotypes. When the clinical manifestations and progression are not fully consistent with the diagnosed rare genetic disease, a second rare genetic disease should be considered, and autosomal dominant diseases caused by de novo heterozygous pathogenic variation should be paid attention to. Trio-based whole-exome sequencing combining a variety of molecular genetic tests would be helpful for precise diagnosis.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the correlation between serum creatinine, blood urea nitrogen content and uric acid level in adult nephrotie syndrome (AS) patients of different ages, in order to provide a theoretical basis for the prevention and control of uric acid metabolism. Methods Individuals of different ages who were diagnosed with nephrotic syndrome from March 2018 to August 2020 in the outpatient department of our hospital were selected as research subjects by stratified random sampling, healthy individuals who underwent physical examination during the same period were selected as controls .The age range of the subjects was 18-55 years old. The biochemical test results of serum creatinine, blood urea nitrogen and uric acid were retrospectively collected from patients of different ages. Pearson correlation analysis of adult serum creatinine, blood urea nitrogen and uric acid levels. Results The levels of creatinine and blood urea nitrogen in healthy adults showed an upward trend at the age of 18-40, and reached a plateau at the age of 40; while the level of uric acid showed an upward trend with age. The levels of serum creatinine, blood urea nitrogen and uric acid in AS patients at different ages were higher than those in healthy controls, and the increase was most pronounced between the ages of 45 and 55. The t-test results showed that the serum creatinine, blood urea nitrogen and uric acid contents of healthy controls were different from those of AS patients except for the 18-22 age group. The main performance was that AS patients had higher measured values than healthy controls. Pearson correlation was used to analyze the correlation between serum creatinine and blood urea nitrogen levels and uric acid in AS patients of different ages. The results showed that the 41-45-year-old patients had the strongest correlation with uric acid, r was 0.584; The patients' blood urea nitrogen level had the strongest correlation with uric acid, with r of 0.373. The age groups with the correlation between serum creatinine, blood urea nitrogen and uric acid content in AS patients were stratified according to gender. There was a significant positive correlation (r>0.45, P0.30, P<0.05). Conclusion The expression level of serum creatinine in 34-45 years old patients with nephrotic syndrome can effectively predict the level of uric acid, and the predictive value of women is higher than that of men.

ABSTRACT

Head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) still lacks effective targeted treatment. Therefore, exploring novel and robust molecular targets is critical for improving the clinical outcome of HNSCC. Here, we reported that the expression levels of family with sequence similarity 64, member A (FAM64A) were significantly higher in HNSCC tissues and cell lines. In addition, FAM64A overexpression was found to be strongly associated with an unfavorable prognosis of HNSCC. Both in vitro and in vivo evidence showed that FAM64A depletion suppressed the malignant activities of HNSCC cells, and vice versa. Moreover, we found that the FAM64A level was progressively increased from normal to dysplastic to cancerous tissues in a carcinogenic 4-nitroquinoline-1-oxide mouse model. Mechanistically, a physical interaction was found between FAM64A and forkhead box protein M1 (FOXM1) in HNSCC cells. FAM64A promoted HNSCC tumorigenesis not only by enhancing the transcriptional activity of FOXM1, but also, more importantly, by modulating FOXM1 expression via the autoregulation loop. Furthermore, a positive correlation between FAM64A and FOXM1 was found in multiple independent cohorts. Taken together, our findings reveal a previously unknown mechanism behind the activation of FOXM1 in HNSCC, and FAM64A might be a promising molecular therapeutic target for treating HNSCC.

ABSTRACT

Salvia miltiorrhiza Bge(SMB)has long been used in traditional Chinese medicine to treat cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.Growing clinical usage has led to a huge demand for artificial planting of SMB.Thus, continuous cropping of SMB is an important challenge that needs to be addressed.Contin-uous cropping can alter the metabolic profile of plants, resulting in poor growth and low yield. In this study,we tried to image the spatial location and variation of endogenous metabolites in continuously cropped SMB using matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry imaging(MALDI-MSI).Spatially resolved expressions of tanshinones, salvianolic acids, polyamines, phenolic acids, amino acids, and oligosaccharides in normal and continuously cropped SMB roots were compared. The ex-pressions of dihydrotanshinone Ⅰ,tanshinone Ⅱ A,dehydromiltirone, miltirone, dehydrotanshinone ⅡA,spermine, salvianolic acid B/E,tetrasaccharide,and pentasaccharide in continuously cropped SMB roots were much lower than those in normal roots. There was little difference in the expressions of caffeic acid and salvianolic acid A in normal and continuously cropped SMB roots.Ferulic acid was more widely distributed in xylem of normal SMB but strongly expressed in xylem, phloem, and cambium of continuously cropped SMB.The spatially resolved metabolite information enhances our understanding of the metabolic signature of continuously cropped SMB and also provides insights into the metabolic ef-fects of continuous cropping in other plants.

ABSTRACT

ObjectiveTo compare the effects of different drying methods on volatile components of Pseudostellariae Radix. MethodThe samples were dried by different methods, including air drying, sun drying, hot air drying (40, 60, 80 ℃) and vacuum freeze drying. Gas chromatography-ion mobility spectrometry (GC-IMS) was used to compare the changes of volatile components in the samples after different treatments. The samples were incubated at 80 ℃ and 500 r·min-1 for 15 min, the injection temperature was 85 ℃, the injection volume was 200 μL, the flow rate of carrier gas was from 2 mL to 150 mL during 20 min, and the temperature of IMS detector was 60 ℃. SE-54 capillary column (0.32 mm×30 m, 0.25 μm) was used, the column temperature was 60 ℃, and the analysis time was 35 min. The differential spectra of volatile components were constructed and analyzed by principal component analysis (PCA). ResultA total of 37 volatile components were identified from dried Pseudostellariae Radix. The number of compounds in descending order was ketones, aldehydes and alcohols. There were some differences in the volatile components in samples dried by different methods. And the volatile components in samples with sun drying, air drying and hot air drying at 40 ℃ were similar, compared with other drying methods, vacuum freeze drying and hot air drying at 80 ℃ had great effects on the volatile components of Pseudostellariae Radix, and the compounds in the samples with vacuum freeze drying were the least. ConclusionIn this study, GC-IMS for the detection and analysis of volatile components in Pseudostellariae Radix is established, which has the characteristics of high efficiency, nondestructive inspection and simple sample processing. This method can be used for the distinction of Pseudostellariae Radix dried by different methods. And hot air drying at 40 ℃ can effectively retain the volatile components of Pseudostellariae Radix, and achieve similar flavor to samples with sun drying and air drying.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To observe the platinum drugs resistance effect of N-acetyltransferase 10 (NAT10) overexpression in breast cancer cell line and elucidate the underlining mechanisms. Methods: The experiment was divided into wild-type (MCF-7 wild-type cells without any treatment) group, NAT10 overexpression group (H-NAT10 plasmid transfected into MCF-7 cells) and NAT10 knockdown group (SH-NAT10 plasmid transfected into MCF-7 cells). The invasion was detected by Transwell array, the interaction between NAT10 and PARP1 was detected by co-immunoprecipitation. The impact of NAT10 overexpression or knockdown on the acetylation level of PARP1 and its half-life was also determined. Immunostaining and IP array were used to detect the recruitment of DNA damage repair protein by acetylated PARP1. Flow cytometry was used to detect the cell apoptosis. Results: Transwell invasion assay showed that the number of cell invasion was 483.00±46.90 in the NAT10 overexpression group, 469.00±40.50 in the NAT10 knockdown group, and 445.00±35.50 in the MCF-7 wild-type cells, and the differences were not statistically significant (P>0.05). In the presence of 10 μmol/L oxaliplatin, the number of cell invasion was 502.00±45.60 in the NAT10 overexpression group and 105.00±20.50 in the NAT10 knockdown group, both statistically significant (P<0.05) compared with 219.00±31.50 in wild-type cells. In the presence of 10 μmol/L oxaliplatin, NAT10 overexpression enhanced the binding of PARP1 to NAT10 compared with wild-type cells, whereas the use of the NAT10 inhibitor Remodelin inhibited the mutual binding of the two. Overexpression of NAT10 induced PARP1 acetylation followed by increased PARP1 binding to XRCC1, and knockdown of NAT10 expression reduced PARP1 binding to XRCC1. Overexpression of NAT10 enhanced PARP1 binding to LIG3, while knockdown of NAT10 expression decreased PARP1 binding to LIG3. In 10 μmol/L oxaliplatin-treated cells, the γH2AX expression level was 0.38±0.02 in NAT10 overexpressing cells and 1.36±0.15 in NAT10 knockdown cells, both statistically significant (P<0.05) compared with 1.00±0.00 in wild-type cells. In 10 μmol/L oxaliplatin treated cells, the apoptosis rate was (6.54±0.68)% in the NAT10 overexpression group and (12.98±2.54)% in the NAT10 knockdown group, both of which were statistically significant (P<0.05) compared with (9.67±0.37)% in wild-type cells. Conclusion: NAT10 overexpression enhances the binding of NAT10 to PARP1 and promotes the acetylation of PARP1, which in turn prolongs the half-life of PARP1, thus enhancing PARP1 recruitment of DNA damage repair related proteins to the damage sites, promoting DNA damage repair and ultimately the survival of breast cancer cells.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND@#Functional dyspepsia (FD) has rarely been investigated in areas with a high prevalence of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC). This study aims to reveal the epidemiological and clinical features of FD and organic dyspepsia (OD) in such a population.@*METHODS@#A middle-aged and elderly population-based study was conducted in a region with a high incidence of ESCC. All participants completed the Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease Questionnaire and Functional Gastrointestinal Disease Rome III Diagnostic Questionnaire, and they underwent gastroscopy. After exclusion of gastroesophageal reflux disease, uninvestigated dyspepsia (UID) was divided into OD and FD for further analyses.@*RESULTS@#A total of 2916 participants were enrolled from July 2013 to March 2014 in China. We detected 166 UID cases with questionnaires, in which 17 patients with OD and 149 with FD were diagnosed via gastroscopy. OD cases presented as reflux esophagitis (RE), ESCC, and duodenal ulcer. Heartburn (52.94%) and reflux (29.41%) were common in OD, but no symptomatic differences were found between FD and OD. Male sex, low education level, and liquid food were the risk factors for OD, while frequent fresh vegetable consumption was a protective factor. FD included 56 (37.58%) cases of postprandial distress syndrome (PDS), 52 (34.89%) of epigastric pain syndrome (EPS), nine (6.04%) of PDS + EPS, and 32 (21.48%) of FD + functional esophageal disorders. The Helicobacter pylori infection rate in FD patients was not higher than that in the control group (34.23% vs. 42.26%, P = 0.240). Frequent spicy food consumption was associated with PDS (odds ratio [OR]: 2.088, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.028-4.243), while consumption of deep well water was protective for PDS (OR: 0.431, 95% CI: 0.251-0.741).@*CONCLUSIONS@#The prevalence of FD was 5.11% in the studied population. Gastroscopy should be prescribed for dyspepsia patients in case that ESCC and RE would be missed in UID cases diagnosed solely by the Rome III questionnaire.@*TRIAL REGISTRATION@#ClinicalTrials.gov, NCT01688908; https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/record/NCT01688908.

ABSTRACT

To investigate the clinical characteristics of metastatic hormone sensitive prostate cancer and explore the strategy of combination of new endocrine drugs. In April 2019, an 69-year-old man was admitted to the First People’s hospital of Changzhou with "gross hematuria" . Physical examination showed prostatic hyperplasia with an unsmooth hard surface. CT showed a mass in bladder and possible metastasis in right lung. Diagnostic TUR-Bt pathology showed prostatic acinar adenocarcinoma, and PET-CT showed malignant lesion of prostate with bladder invasion, multiple pelvic lymph node metastasis and lung metastasis. The diagnosis of mHSPC with lymphatic and lung metastasis was considered. The patient was treated with bicalutamide and then switched to goserelin plus acetate abiraterone with prednisone. Total prostate specific antigen (tPSA) decreased to 0.705 ng/ml after 1 month of ADT+ AAP treatment, and decreased to 0.007 ng/ml after 4 months, and then maintained at 0.003 ng/ml until January 2021. Serum testosterone decreased to 0ng/dl and maintained the whole follow-up period. After 3 months of treatment, the pulmonary metastasis was not obvious. Till the last follow-up at January 2021, the patient reported good quality of life with no serious adverse events. The efficacy of ADT combined with acetate abiraterone in the treatment of mHSPC with lung cancer was significant.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To compare the regulatory effects of Polygala tenuifolia and licorice-simmered P. tenuifolia on learning and memory, hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal axis (HPA axis) function and neurotransmitters in rats with heart-kidney imbalance insomnia. Method:The rat model of insomnia induced by multi-factor stimulation was established. After the model being made, the administration groups were given the extracts of P. tenuifolia and licorice-simmered P. tenuifolia by gavage (dose of 8 g·kg-1·d-1), while the normal group and model group were given the same volume of normal saline for 7 days. Morris water maze was used to detect the changes of learning and memory ability of rats in each group. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was used to determine the levels of corticotropin-releasing hormone (CRH), adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) and cortisol (CORT) in serum of rats from each group. The contents of 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT), dopamine (DA), γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) and glutamic acid (Glu) in the hypothalamus of rats were determined simultaneously by ultra performance liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS/MS). Result:Compared with the normal group, the spatial learning and memory ability of rats in the model group was decreased, the times and time of staying in target quadrant were significantly reduced (P<0.05, P<0.01), the levels of CORT, CRH and ACTH in serum were significantly increased (P<0.01), the contents of GABA, DA, 5-HT in hypothalamus tissue were significantly decreased (P<0.01), and the content of Glu was significantly increased (P<0.01). Compared with the model group, the spatial learning and memory ability of rats in the P. tenuifolia group and licorice-simmered P. tenuifolia group were increased, the times and time of staying in the target quadrant were significantly increased (P<0.05, P<0.01), the levels of CORT, CRH and ACTH in serum were significantly decreased (P<0.05, P<0.01), the contents of GABA, DA and 5-HT in hypothalamus tissue were significantly increased (P<0.05, P<0.01), and the content of Glu was significantly decreased (P<0.05). The recovery degree of each index in the licorice-simmered P. tenuifolia group was better than that in the P. tenuifolia group. Conclusion:Both P. tenuifolia and licorice-simmered P. tenuifolia can improve the learning and memory ability, improve the function of HPA axis, regulate the level of central neurotransmitters, and have the effect of calming the mind and improving the intelligence of rats with heart-kidney imbalance insomnia. The effect of licorice-simmered P. tenuifolia is better than that of P. tenuifolia.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To compare the effects of different drying methods on the chemical constituents of Trichosanthis Fructus. Method:Trichosanthis Fructus was dried by means of air drying, sun drying, hot air drying (40, 60, 80 ℃) and variable temperature drying (50-80, 80-50 ℃). The contents of nucleosides and flavonoids in Trichosanthis Fructus peels and seeds treated by different methods were compared by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), mobile phase was acetonitrile-0.2% acetic acid aqueous solution (3∶7) (A)-acetonitrile (B) for gradient elution (0-15 min, 97-95%B; 15-30 min, 95%-90%B; 30-35 min, 90%-87%B; 35-40 min, 87%-86.5%B; 40-48 min, 86.5%-97%B; 48-50 min, 97%B), the detection wavelength was 260 nm, and the flow rate was 0.4 mL·min-1. Gas chromatography-ion mobility spectrometry (GC-IMS) was used to compare the changes of volatile components in the samples treated by different treatments. The volatile components were incubated on a SE-54 capillary column (0.32 mm×30 m, 0.25 μm) at 80 ℃ and 500 r·min-1 for 15 min, the injection temperature was 85 ℃, the injection volume was 400 μL, the analysis time was 35 min, carrier gas was high purity nitrogen, the flow rate of carrier gas was 2.0 mL·min-1, the flow rate of drift gas was 150 mL·min-1, and the temperature of IMS detector was 45 ℃. Result:The contents of uridine, adenosine and adenine were higher after hot air drying at >50 ℃. Low temperature drying was conducive to maintaining the stability of cytidine, cytosine, rutin, luteolin and 2ʹ-deoxyadenosine. GC-IMS technology could realize the analysis and identification of Trichosanthis Fructus samples after different treatments. There were more volatile components after hot air drying at 80 ℃ and variable temperature drying. Conclusion:Hot air drying at 40 ℃ and 60 ℃ can retain nucleosides and flavonoids, and the volatile components are similar to those in traditional drying methods, which has the advantages of high efficient, controllable and suitable for industrial production.

ABSTRACT

Background@#Ticks are one of the most common external parasites in dogs, and are associated with the transmission of a number of major zoonoses, which result in serious harm to human health and even death. Also, the increasing number of pet dogs and pet owners in China has caused concern regarding human tick-borne illnesses. Accordingly, studies are needed to gain a complete understanding of the bacterial composition and diversity of the ticks that parasitize dogs. @*Objectives@#To date, there have been relatively few reports on the analysis of the bacterial community structure and diversity in ticks that parasitize dogs. The objective of this study was to investigate the microbial composition and diversity of parasitic ticks of dogs, and assessed the effect of tick sex and geographical region on the bacterial composition in two tick genera collected from dogs in China. @*Methods@#A total of 178 whole ticks were subjected to a 16S ribosomal RNA (rRNA) next generation sequencing analysis. The Illumina MiSeq platform targeting the V3–V4 region of the 16S rRNA gene was used to characterize the bacterial communities of the collected ticks. Sequence analysis and taxonomic assignment were performed using QIIME 2 and the GreenGene database, respectively. After clustering the sequences into taxonomic units, the sequences were quality-filtered and rarefied. @*Results@#After pooling 24 tick samples, we identified a total of 2,081 operational taxonomic units, which were assigned to 23 phyla and 328 genera, revealing a diverse bacterial community profile. The high, moderate and low prevalent taxa include 46, 101, and 182 genera, respectively. Among them, dominant taxa include environmental bacterial genera, such as Psychrobacter and Burkholderia. Additionally, some known tick-associated endosymbionts were also detected, including ,Coxiella, Rickettsia, and Ricketssiella. Also, the potentially pathogenic genera Staphylococcus and Pseudomonas were detected in the tick pools. Moreover, our preliminary study found that the differences in microbial communities are more dependent on the sampling location than tick sex in the tick specimens collected from dogs. @*Conclusions@#The findings of this study support the need for future research on the microbial population present in ticks collected from dogs in China.
